Eastern Kingbird

Tyrannus tyrannus

There are many kingbirds hunting insects over the beaver bog. They sit in dead trees or on power lines. When they fly off for an insect they dive. Their return flight is erratic and noisy with vocalizations. On the day I took these photos, two kingbirds had a loud spat over who would sit in the tallest dead tree in the bog. Hopefully in the future I will be able to take bigger telephoto photos for better views.
